Windows 7 is available in different versions to meet specific needs of the consumers.
The main versions of Windows 7 are:
- Windows 7 Ultimate: This has all the features of Windows operating systems, it also has the BitLocker Drive Encryption.
- Windows 7 Enterprise: Available for customers who purchased software assurance from Microsoft, it also has the BitLocker Drive Encryption, there is no retail copy for this version.
- Windows 7 Professional: Well used in the corporate environment.
- Windows 7 Home Premium: Mostly for home users, joining a domain and the group policy settings are not available on this version.
Some other versions of Windows 7 are:
- Windows 7 N & K Editions:This edition is only sold in South Korea
- Windows 7 Starter: This is limited in features
- Windows 7 Home Basic: This is mostly found in some developing countries
Windows 8. 8.1 and Windows 10 were added not long ago.
